Riverside Lions club – Tailrace park Launceston Tasmania
The Tailrace project was a joint project between the Tasmanian state government, local West Tamar council and the Riverside lions club.
Prior to receiving funding for the project we contacted multiple outdoor gym providers to get an idea of the equipment available and cost. Neil from Fitness Trails® was very forthcoming with not only suggestions to fit our budget but also advice on surface options, location of the site and tips to increase our chances of a successful grant application. This help aided in a successful bid process.
We ultimately chose to go with Fitness Trails® equipment due to the fact we wanted a set up to benefit everyone in the area from the many fitness enthusiast that already use the park down to the more elderly members of the community who were asking for these facilities. We deemed their gear to cater for the biggest range of users and without any moving parts we felt it was the safest and most robust option. We were certainly swayed by the proven longevity of many existing location across the country. As this was a Lions club Project, we choose to install this equipment ourselves and found the installation instructions very easy to follow and we did the bulk of the set up in a single weekend. The site has now been in place for over 12 months and in this time we have had nothing but positive feedback about the equipment and its functionality. We have plans for another outdoor gym project in the near future and at this stage we will definitely be engaging Fitness Trails® again.
